Getting anxious......
Well, finally got my shoulder done....arthoscopic surgery. It was 2 years overdue and I swore I would get it done after the skeleton season. I am healing nicely but very anxious to start playing hockey. I am skating but when I try making a pass, that's when I know I am not ready yet.
I will do my left shoulder at the end of March 2007, in time for the beach volleyball season........yes, we can rebuild him he he.
I have ordered my first pair of speed skates and they should be available in November. They are a dual system, fixed and clap skates and this first pair will run me about $400 to $500 to start.
The beauty here is that there is an outdoor oval in Ottawa so I plan to take full advantage of that and skate at least an hour everyday, along with traveling to Calgary to skate on the Olympic oval, and of course, the local rink to simply practice starts.
I am just curious to see how the transition will be from playing hockey one day to speed skating the next.....might be baffling.
Anyways, hope no one is grossed out with the 3 holes in my arm......

Hey there Dee,
Glad you are doing better. I got my ortho same shoulder back in 1990. OUCH it took a while before the headaches went away.. Keep up with the dream. Cause if you don't nobody will.
Love ya your bro,
TIm Pierce
